7:30: Giv3 N’ Go (2-0) vs. Getting Older (2-0)
The first two weeks of the fall season have been great. But this might be the best game the first three weeks has to offer, especially with both of these teams off to 2-0 starts. The defending champs versus the team on the rise. This will be a good one.
Player to Watch: Martin Salinas
You have to outshoot Getting Older to beat them, and Salinas is one of the premier shooters we have in the league. Plus he can do this.
7:30: Contract Killers (1-1) vs. Tropics (0-2)
It’s hard to say they’re underachieving at 1-1, but the Contract Killers can be better than they’ve been. The Tropics absolutely can and this needs to be the week they start getting the show back on the road.
Player to Watch: Adam Miller
Time for the team’s best player to be more aggressive. One of the better all-around players in the league, he can score too. With many of their top scorers from season’s past having departed, Miller might need to take on more of a Kobe role.
8:30: Easy Money (1-1) vs. Bucket Squad (0-2)
Easy Money rebounded last week with a clutch, five point win over the Tropics. This week they have a far easier task but not one to take lightly. That’s why we play the games, after all.
Player to Watch: Brandon Barkley
This could be a good week for my boss to get his shot right.
8:30: The Sizzle (0-2) vs. The Soldiers (2-0)
Aside from the Tropics, The Sizzle are the other 0-2 team that you’re just waiting on to win. This contest presents an opportunity for them to not only win, but gain some confidence because they’re playing one of the league’s best squads. The Soldiers haven’t been challenged yet and if all goes to their gameplan, won’t be this week.
Player to Watch: Will Haynes
The Soldiers have a good team. No doubt about that. But replacing Ike Akotaobi hasn’t been easy, or done yet. Haynes is a big, big man with scoring in his arsenal. The more time he spends around the basket, the better. For him and the team. If he becomes a dominant post presence, The Soldiers could be in the mix for title talk this Fall.
