Even if it was off the bench, he laughs. “I come off the bench with the Mavs, so it wasn’t too new for me since I’ve been doing that the past five weeks.”

Clearly, it was the good kind.
“There was a little luck sprinkled in,” Baldwin laughs. “It’s 2018.”
“We all know what we can do from top to bottom of our team,” Avila says about the depth of the Legends.
“I’ve always been a better offensive rebounder, I don’t really know why. I guess it’s because I can see where the shots are going easier on offense. I’m a guy that wants to go get the ball rather than wait for it to come to me.”
As far as all the additional eyes and ears, that’s nothing new for the gold medal winner. “I was playing in front of these guys over the summer so it’s not anything different. I know what I’m going to do, I’m not going to do anything out of the ordinary. I’m going to do what I do, be who I am and try to get some wins for the team.”
“In August, I wrote a journal entry and I dated it December 31st,” says the 26-year old. “I wrote it in August, dated it December 31st and I started the journal entry by saying ‘I’m so blessed to have played in five NBA games so far.’ By December 31st, I had played in five NBA games.”
